Learn "Step 2" to making hand thrown vessels with professional potters Keren Brown and David Zink. This class will help you take your beginning to intermediate pottery skills and advance quickly into pottery throwing that caters to your interests.

Subjects covered in Step 2 pottery include ( but are not limited to) throwing consistent and intentionally shaped vessels, centering larger volumes of clay, and basic two-part pieces such as handled mugs, bowls, and dish ware. We will also touch on the basics of altered forms.

Step 2 Students are welcome to register for this class up to 6 months consecutively, or as long as authorized by the instructor, at which time they are required to enroll in Step 3 Studio Pottery.

FEE: $88 covers 25 lbs of free practice clay, wheel and tool use during open all open-hours, and 4 class sessions. Your 25 lbs of free practice clay is enough to apply demonstrated skills by the instructor to your own work. Additional clay can be purchased at Mondaes with no limit.

Step 2 students may choose to keep and glaze up to 20 pots with no size limit, and qualify for 50% off firing fees for additional pots. Most Step 2 Students do not throw and finish more than 20 pots per month.

SKILL LEVEL: Students need to be able to center clay at the wheel without instruction, and be able to throw a balanced cylinder prior to enrolling in Step 2. Our Intro To Pottery Class is a great way to get your hands back in the clay if you need a refresher.

CLASS TIME: Tuesdays 6-8pm, Thursdays, 10am-12pm or 6-8pm, 4 classes each monthly session. Please choose the time slot that you will attend the entire month.

THIS CLASS FILLS QUICKLY! Space is limited to 10 students per session. Purchase your class registration here, or call Puffy Mondaes @ 208-407-3359 to reserve your space.

Class fees are transferrable but not refundable: fees paid to guest teachers and special events are subject to approval before transferring.

Puffy Mondaes reserves the right to cancel any class in the unlikely case of underbooking or an instructor's unexpected schedule conflict. If this occurs, you will be contacted and offered to keep your reserved class space for the next offered class date, or offered a refund, whichever you prefer.
