Foundational Dyeworks will provide the base knowledge needed for new dyers to feel confident when applying Procion, Acid, and Natural Dyes to any fiber or yarn.
Students will gain hands-on experience with Acid dye methods for wool, silk, and nylon fibers, and an overview with hand-outs on Procion and Natural Dyeing. Yarns and fiber to dye are included in your class fee at no additional charge.
FEE: $68 includes all instruction and take-home info, 2 hanks of dyeable yarn and 4 oz of dyeable fiber per student. Additional dyeable yarns and fiber are available for purchase at Mondaes, and dye vats are big enough to dye yarn or fibers you bring in addition if desired.
CLASS TIMES: This is a 1 session, 3 hour class, offered both day and night sessions. Please see options available in pull-down tab and join the email newsletter to keep up with new dates offered.
SKILL LEVEL: No prior experience with fiber art required, up to advanced who would like a large-scale overview of dying processes and appropriate fibers.
STUDENTS SUPPLY: Apron, older clothing, and shoes that do not slip if floors become damp. Note taking materials are welcome if desired, but not required. Students are also welcome to bring any additional wool, silk, or nylon fibers or yarn to dye in addition to those provided in class (pre-dyed fibers to re-dye are welcome!)
CLASS SPACE LIMITED TO 6 STUDENTS: Register here, or call us @ 208-407-3359 to pre-pay and reserve your space.
Class fees are transferrable but not refundable: fees paid to guest teachers and special events are subject to approval before transferring. Transfers are only granted among same-instructor classes and upon approval.
Puffy Mondaes reserves the right to cancel any class due to underbooking or in the unlikely case of an unexpected instructors absence. If a class is cancelled, you will be notified by a staff member via email and offered a space in the next available class or a refund.
