Many of our spinners prefer to purchase at least 2 extra bobbins with their initial Schacht Reeves wheel. The Schacht Reeves wheel initially comes with 3 bobbins and a lazy kate. If you are a fairly new spinner or prefer to spin larger diameter (thicker) yarns, you will want to be sure to purchase the Slow Whorl with your initial wheel purchase to create less twist and allow for slower spinning.The Schacht-Reeves flyer shaft is 5/16'' in diameter versus the original Reeves 1/4'' diameter. This means that the current Schacht bobbins can't be used on prior Reeves-made wheels. Replacement wooden bobbins for older Reeves spinning wheels can be ordered from Hill Creek Fiber Studio, (800) 874-9328.
