This F96 Fettling Knife blade is softer than the F97, making it more flexible for turning curved cuts and bending against hard surfaces for sculpture or pottery.
Fettling knives are used by ceramic artists to trim the pour hole waste and mold marks from from cast greenware, and by potters for cutting off cylindrical shapes in one slice such as tea pot spouts or goblet stems.
